Noosa Council engineers have contacted us to advise that there is currently an issue with the lock gates as the result of a vessel hitting the gates and damaging the safety trip wires and associated underwater bracket.
The lock is continuing to operate safely with some delay at the moment.
Council has advised that the contractors are scheduled to investigate and repair ASAP; however, with current diver availability, this may not occur until mid-next week at this stage.
The lock remains open (for now) and Council will continue to monitor the live CCTV footage.
If there are any reports of vessels stuck inside the lock gates, please call Noosa Council Customer Service on 5329 6500.
Please ensure that you take extra care when using the lock at this time!
