Do you know the origin of our NWRA logo?

Committee member, David Peel, was able to find out the origin of our NWRA logo and we thought it would be of interest to share this with you.

In late 2009, Noosa Waters Residents Association held a competition for an ensign, offering a dinner at a Noosa restaurant as a prize. The original thought was that this flag may be used on the many boats in Noosa Waters, but could also fly from flag poles around the estate.

Dr Ron Meikel OAM (still a resident of Noosa Waters) gave it some thought. He said initially "I made little progress and produced cartoon type images". Ron then gained inspiration from the shape of the canal. "If you look at the ensign, you will see the stylised image of the canal" Ron advised. With slight modification, he incorporated an anchor into the design and came up with the image we are all familiar with.

Ron has formally assigned all copyright and ownership of the design to the Association.

Thank you Ron for your inspiration in creating a timeless and relevant logo.
