From Noosa Council:
Thank you to everyone who helped promote our waste survey earlier this year. We received over 600 responses which informed the development of the new Noosa Council Draft Waste Plan.
Nearly 80% of the Noosa community rate protecting the environment as important when it comes to managing waste. A further 62% say reducing waste at the source is paramount to a sustainable future.
Compostable organic material, such as kitchen scraps, thrown into general waste bins accounts for 40% of the material we currently send to landfill. Reducing the volume of this organic material winding up in landfill each year is a major focus of the Waste Plan and we need the support of the community to make it happen.
The Draft Waste Plan is out for community feedback from 18 August – 10 September. View the Draft Plan and have your say by completing a short 2-minute survey.
