Lock outage update

Dear members,


I've just received the following update from Council.


 

As means of an initial advice, we have been advised that the Lock has been damaged yesterday and we have contractors on-site doing their best to get the lock operational.

 

The information that has been provided to date - that there is damage to the lock by a vessel and as a result a motor has burnt out, with other infrastructure also damaged. The initial assessment by the contractor has advise that repairs will take up to a week, As a result the lock will be out of action throughout this period.

 

Contractors and staff are pulling together resources for a rapid response with a site meeting proposed on Monday (time to be confirmed).

 

As more information comes to hand, I will keep you updated.
