Lock repair complete

Dear Members,

The lock was successfully repaired last Wednesday. The divers do not believe the damage was the result of a collision by a vessel but rather a submerged object, possibly a log. This conclusion is supported by the fact that the damaged brackets are below the draft depth of vessels that use the lock. The reviewed CCTV footage also found no evidence of a vessel being involved.

I would remind lock users that the lock is monitored and Council will look to recover the costs of repair to damage caused by users. Speed is often a factor with these incidents, so please take care when passing through the lock.
