We have received the following email from the Noosa Council Parks and Gardens Technical Officer regarding Tree Works - Noosa Waters area.
Just wanted to let you know that we have another round of palms scheduled for removal early next month.
This one is covering parts of Noosaville as well not just Noosa waters, but majority of requests have come from Noosa Waters Residents.
We are happy for you to let residents know that if they have palms on their road reserve that they are happy to have removed they just need to request it through customer service. This round is closed but we carry out these proactive removals a couple of times a year so they can get them on the next list.
Could not agree more with your comment James, the Council have been very inept with their handling of the Pandanus in relation to the pathways and streetscape.
I think the Association should be taking this matter up with Council. I suspect their plan is to remove most if not all palms from Noosa Waters, which will adversely impact on the look and feel of the locality. The previous round of clearing thinned them out and in return the Council promised to fix up the street gardens that they had neglected for 5 years. The palms are gone but there has been no improvement in the street scape care and maintenance.
